CEO & Board Chair

Mikell Walker Jr.
Chief Executive Officer & Board Chair
CERT Corporation

Mikell Walker Jr. is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Chair of CERT Corporation, an operational support company serving high-use facilities across corrections, healthcare, housing, and institutional environments.

Before founding CERT, Mikell worked within the Clayton County correctional system, serving in multiple operational roles and gaining firsthand experience with the daily realities of jail operations. He later worked at a federal detention facility commonly referred to as “Alligator Alcatraz,” operating in a high-security, high-volume environment where reliability, discipline, and accountability were essential.

During his time in corrections, Mikell was responsible for running a Behavior Management Unit (BMU), overseeing high-risk inmates and maintaining order in one of the most demanding housing environments. That experience directly shaped CERT’s operational model by exposing how laundry delays, damaged uniforms, sanitation failures, pest issues, and maintenance backlogs increase tension, strain staff, and create operational risk.

In parallel with his operational experience, Mikell is a business management student, focused on building scalable systems, disciplined operations, and long-term institutional partnerships.

As CEO, he leads CERT with an emphasis on operational reliability, accountability, and services that integrate directly into facility workflows — allowing staff to focus on security and control rather than logistics.

CERT operates with a commitment to professionalism, compliance, and long-term partnerships, positioning the company as a dependable service provider for facilities that cannot afford disruption.
